Not Bad is a series created for a two-person show with needlepoint artist Margaret Timbrell. Each artist designed artwork based on comments made to us about our art. My quilts pair the text with images of the person for whom the comment was intended. The images of Timbrell and myself look at the viewer sardonically, lending the quilts a gently sarcastic humor. They reclaim the comments, transforming them into clever and funny images of empowerment. In 2020, the quilt Full Decade Later was selected for inclusion in the first de Young Open at the de Young Museum.
